Here we go!
After introducing the product concept on Kickstarter, we were generously supported by over 150 friends, family, colleagues – and a few "curious" backers – allowing us to launch:
The LIFT Bottle Openers Co. and, we couldn't be more proud of the final result!
After spending over a year in the design, prototype, refinement process we settled on an opener that is seemingly "simple" but is comprised of 5 components that go through over six different processes during manufacturing and assembly. We then found a production partner who is equally committed to the high standards we set for ourselves.
Because we followed a proven design process, which starts with YOU, our customer and end user, we discovered opportunities to make the steps in opening bottles and canned drinks more enjoyable – from start to finish.
Make a difference
When it comes to the name, LIFT, you might think comes from the motion – when 'lifting' bottle caps off of bottles. But, to me, it’s much more than that. My goal is to launch a product line, yes…but, more importantly I’m hoping to uplift people with disabilities around the world to help them move beyond their current constraints; so they can be more involved in their communities and lead more normal, everyday lives.
Once the product line is up and running, I’m intending to give 10% of the profits to Wheels for the World, an organization that provides wheelchairs to people in financial need, around the world. They’ve been successfully organizing and distributing wheelchairs to people for years.
I’ve been in a wheelchair for 6 years and learned the hard way, that mobility – even if it is in a wheelchair – can be a game changer.
